We just saw how to to export emails from Sales Navigator. That’s great for volume but we don’t have much intent data there - do these people really need our solution? We don’t know before reaching out.
Can we do better and leverage other data points to increase our relevancy?
The answer is yes - let’s see a few tactics we can use for laser targeted campaigns.
Scraping Linkedin interactions
One thing we can use is leveraging clues people on social networks.
For example, people that interact with a specific post on Linkedin are actively showing an interest for the content/topic/niche.
That means:
- they are active on Linkedin (good point)
- they are getting educated on your niche (at least by this post, but it’s probably not the only post they’ve seen)
- they show an interest in the problem mentioned (if you select the posts cleverly - no use in doing that on eg. political / lifestyle posts)
We can actually export those people with emails so that we can use them in highly targeted campaigns.
To do that:
- Install Findymail’s Chrome extension
- Click the 3 dots in the top right corner of a post > Copy link to post
- Paste it in your browser to visit the post link
- You should now see Findymail export buttons at the end of the post
You can either export likers or commenters. Usually there are more likers than commenters but commenting is a stronger signal than liking.
Once exported with emails, you can use those people in targeted cold email campaigns or Linkedin outreach.
A simple and effective first line you can use in such cases is something like
“Hey {firstname}, saw your comment on {author}’s post …”
Scraping Twitter interactions
We’ve seen how to do that on Linkedin, but if that’s applicable to your niche you can also do that on Twitter.
In that case, we’ll use a tool called Scrapybird to export Twitter profiles with B2B emails.
With it you can scrape:
- Followers ❤️
- Following
- List members
- Tweet likers
- Tweet repliers ❤️
You don’t even need a Twitter account to use (although it will be useful to find the accounts/tweets to scrape) - just plug the account / tweet ID in the tool and let it run. You can then export your list with emails with one click.
Followers & tweet repliers are my two favorites:
- followers is usually where you will get the most volume. If they follow XYZ account in your niche, they’re likely interested in your niche and can be good prospects
- tweet repliers, like linkedin commenters, are people with strong engagement signals. If you have popular tweets in your niche, scraping repliers will give you interested, highly active prospects
Due to the lack of context data on Twitter, the match rate is usually lower though - you can expect 5-10% profiles to have a B2B email.
But, that tactic is so unusual/innovative that it compensates with very good results. Mentioning you saw them on Twitter is definitely not something that screams automated (at least.. not yet!)
